This is the second time we spent our winter in Southeast Texas. Victoria and Goliad have a lot of history in these two cities. The RV resort we are staying at is the same one we stayed at two years ago. Many friendly neighbors and I believe we have one of the best RV sites here. There is plenty of room for Shale and Shadow to play and our site is conveniently located across from the club house.

The Goliad PRCA Rodeo was spectacular and certainly for everyone including children. Such a beautiful sunny Sunday after many overcast and rainy days the last week. From bucking broncos, roping, barrel races and the mighty bull riders and much more. The intermission brought lots of children into the arena for fun entertainment. We look forward to going to more rodeos in the near future.

ROCKPORT & ARANSAS PASS, TEXAS

Rockport is a city on the coast of Texas. Its home to long Rockport Beach with its fishing piers and rich birdlife. Rockport is known for its endless recreational possibilities and mild weather. The weather has been wonderful in the low to mid 70’s and sunny almost every day. Rockport is one of the 100 Best Small Art Towns of America, and recognized among the top retirements spots in the nation by America’s Best Places to retire.

We have a two month stay here and have a lot of places to visit and take in the beauty of this area. One of our favorite sites was Port Aransas on Mustang Island. We took the ferry numerous times to visit the Island and enjoy the beach and the eighteen miles of the island stretching from Corpus Christi to Port Aransas.

Our RV resort Reel Chill is a beautiful park with large RV sites and very spotless with activities daily. We met many neighbors from many states and Canada

MOUNT AIRY, NC home of Mayberry

We are fans of The Andy Griffith Show and stepped back to a simpler time when we visited Mount Airy. Actor Andy Griffith grew up here, and it’s no coincidence that a stroll down Main Street in this “Friendly City” reminds people of the town of Mayberry on the endearing popular ‘60s hit TV series, The Andy Griffith Show. Fans of the show can visit Floyd’s City Barber Shop, the Old Mayberry Jail, Snappy Lunch, and even Andy’s childhood home. The pictures on this post show all of the above.

SEDONA ARIZONA

Sedona is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff that’s surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. It’s noted for its mild climate and vibrant arts community. Uptown Sedona is dense with New Age shops, spas and art galleries. On the town’s outskirts, numerous trailheads access Red Rock State Park, which offers bird-watching, hiking and picnicking spots. We enjoyed the short drive from Prescott to Sedona.
