We enjoyed a very pleasant morning visiting Mount Rainer as there was no crowds and beauty surrounded us in early July.  The weather was on the cool side being the altitude of over 7,000 feet.  Not too much higher than when we both skydived and free falled from 12,500 feet twenty four years ago. Mount Rainer is the highest mountain in the U.S state of Washing ton. We did not realize that Mount Rainer is a large active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range until we visited here and learned of the history of this mountain. The breathtaking views do not do justice with photo’s but to experience first hand is indescribable.

One of America’s most beautiful places to visit. We started our first day on the East Glacier National park side and hiked a couple miles through some beautiful areas including waterfalls. The weather was sunny and very pleasant. After two nights on the east side of Glacier we drove the 80 miles to the west side side at a beautiful RV Resort five miles from the west entrance. We stayed here for 4 nights and the weather agreed with us all but some rain the last day. Fortunate it was June and we had reservations for the entire time for Going-to-the-Sun-Road. The only way to drive this road is having a reservation.

This National Park was always on our Bucket List and very fortunate to make it way up here on the Northwest to view God’s spectacular artwork. Just breath taking and different than the Switzerland Alps but just as gorgeous in a different way.

As we move on we will be heading to Idaho, Oregon & Crater Lake, Washington (Mount Rainer) and then to Northern California (Redwoods). Many memories for us on this trip.

Our ten days in Knab Utah and the beautiful RV resort with many amenities was wonderful. The weather was extremely hot but now on our way to Las Vegas to see my sister. Seven degrees warmer there but very low humidity compared to Utah. We don’t have a lot of pictures of Bryce and Zion but we plan on spending more time there on our next visit. After a few days in Nevada we will then spend a month or two in Northern Arizona depending on our possible Camp Ground host positions. Cool weather will be welcome.

A beautiful sunny day to visit Snowbird. Bill skied these mountains many years ago. It was wonderful to see the magnificent Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains near Salt Lake City. No way I could ski down the Black Diamond here. Many hikers on the 140 trails here at Snowbird.

The drive to Bear Lake is incredibly beautiful and is a great way to spend a couple hours relaxing. Its also very popular to ride the route on bikes. The most spectacular views of the lake was from the Utah side by Garden City. We had a nice lunch in an open restaurant in Garden City. A gorgeous day for this one and one half hour trip.

It was a two hour drive from Rexburg ID but well worth it. The smoke from the wildfires was not real bad but still the smoke shadows some of the photo’s. The winding roads and our drive on Signal Mountain Summit Road was a real experience. The 7,720 elevation gave us some fantastic views.  Since we went mid-week the traffic was not a problem until driving through Jackson, WY. Hopefully we will make all National Parks throughout the coming years.

It was nice to leave Montana and the smokey skies for three weeks due to the forest fires. Idaho welcomed us with sunny blue skies. We plan on staying here for the next two weeks. Shale and Shadow enjoyed the dog park in Idaho Falls.

It was a short drive from Sundance WY to Devils Tower. It was a crystal clear day. The tower is an astounding geologic feature that protrudes out of the prairie surrounding the Black Hills. Hundreds of parallel cracks make it one of the finest crack climbing areas in North America.

Some photo’s are from the Anaconda Range where we stayed at our RV Resort for one month. Other photo’s are from Butte MT. Butte is surrounded by mountains on three sides: the East Ridge, the Highlands Range to the south, and the Boulder Mountains to the north. We took these photo’s on a good day as the near by forest fires turned our sunny skies gray for two weeks.
